Overview
Queulat is home to Valdivian rainforest, milky rivers, and the famous Hanging Glacier: a glacier suspended above a cliff, pouring waterfalls into an emerald-green lagoon. Located between Puyuhuapi and Puerto Cisnes, it features well-marked trails, viewpoints, and boat navigation.Information about visiting the park
- Location: The park is about 165 km north of Coyhaique, on the Austral Highway (Route 7), near the town of Puyuhuapi.
- Activities: Main activities include hiking, flora and fauna observation, photography, and boat navigation.
- The Hanging Glacier: The glacier can be observed from two main trails:
- Hanging Glacier Viewpoint Trail: A 5.8 km walk (round trip) with a 300 m elevation gain, taking about 2 to 2.5 hours to complete. It leads to a viewpoint for a close-up view of the glacier.
- Laguna Témpanos Trail: This trail offers a view of the glacier from the lagoon’s shore, which can also be reached via a hanging bridge.

- From Puyuhuapi: ~22 km (30–40 min) via Route 7 to the park entrance.

- Hanging Glacier Viewpoint Trail: 6–8 km round trip, 3–4 h, medium difficulty.
Recommendations
- Frequent mud; waterproof footwear recommended.
- Mosquitoes (midges) in summer: bring repellent.
